Resident Evil 2 is actually the game that got me into collecting video games in the first place, so it has a very special place for me on this board. When I was a kid my best friend got an N64, which was outdated at that point, and he showed me the 64 port of RE2. Although I didn't end up buying RE2 at the time, it made me realize how many games there were that were amazing that came out before my time that I was missing out on, so I bought an N64 shortly after. But recently I went to a local gamestore and picked up RE2 for nostalgia sake, and I really enjoyed it! I wanted more so I decided to look online for the original Resident Evil to try that as well, and I managed to scoop this long box version for $36! quite the steal imo, I am really enjoying the game. For those who don't know, RE1 was released three times on the PS1, and this is the first release. This is the hardest version of the game, because the auto aim is turned off, a lot of the resources you are given were reduced and the enemies do more damage. I thought this would make the game too hard but I actually find that it adds well to the horror element of the game, I find myself dreading running out of ammo or healing items and it makes me nervous to encounter new enemies. As you can probably see my box for this game isnt in perfect condition, it seems like it may have had some water damage at some point as the manual is completely stuck together :( but the disc works and the front of the box is good enough that I feel happy looking at it on my shelf. |
